Old town with new people – Brussels

It can be declared Brussels appears like Janus: the god with a couple faces. Certainly one of Brussels’ faces is that of Europe’s administrative hub and the other is that showing the energetic atmosphere, the interesting architecture, the thin avenues, the huge parks, the nice cafés and the active social life.

Brussels is a fantastic city where officials of many countries interact on a day-to-day schedule making the town a energetic and interesting location. The same variety and distinction can also be found in the different architectural variations that might be discovered in the city by itself. Gothic cathedrals and church buildings tend to be next to – and sometimes in stark comparison with – gracious traditional facades just like the architectural structures around the Royal Square, or stunning art nouveau and artwork deco houses.

Brussels has no symbol to rival the majestic Big Ben or the skyscraping Eiffel Tower, aside from the tiny but well known Manneken-Pis, a statuette of a urinating boy (and anywhere along the labyrinth of filter roads – a statuette of a peeing girl – Jeanneke-Pis). Even so, not many people haven’t noticed of Brussels, its long historical past, modest people and buzzing surroundings.

In terms of lodging there is something for everyone in gorgeous Brussels. A passionate hotel to spend a second honeymoon? A luxurious penthouse with a great check out to the city? A completely furnished and outfitted apartment which feels like home? A hostel where the party never stops? It is all there for you to decide on from.
